Find out how to participate

Eligibility

Training is open to out-of-state candidates:

  • with a cognitive or intellectual disability
  • who have the required skills and abilities and
  • who can fund the costs of their training in South Carolina.  Fees go to South Carolina—not Walgreens—just to cover the state’s costs.

Support services during training

The Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board can provide temporary housing, transportation, and support for a limited number of out-of-state trainees.

Process to apply

Would you like to apply?  If so:

  1. Check out the web site of the Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board (DSN) for details.
  2. Go through the assessment tool on the DSN web site to see if you may qualify.
  3. Contact the Anderson County Disabilities and Special Needs Board to discuss next steps.

The Training Center can train only a few people at a time, so the number of openings is limited.  There is no guarantee that all who apply can receive pre-hire training.

Walgreens is not directly involved in the process of choosing pre-hire trainees.
