What is the workplace in Valparaiso like?

The Team Members are excited and enthusiasitic about moving forward in our efforts to employ people with disabilities in all positions. Our goal is to employ at least 100 people with disabilities by the year 2010.

What is a typical day?

A typical day includes, clocking in, storing personal items in locker, attending departmental meeting at the beginning of each shift. On some days, you can be assigned to temporarily work in another department to help them out, this can last for a few hours or a few days.

Who will I work with?

If you join our center, you will work on a team. People with disabilities and people without disabilities will work together.

Work rules

The following work rules apply at the distribution center.  However, exceptions can be made on an individual basis if needed to accommodate a person's disability.

  • The jobs are full-time. 
  • The center will run three shifts.  Team members may work the day, evening, or night shift. 
  • Team members must work overtime sometimes.
